Mitsubishi Motors Europe is partnering with supply chain technology company Vinturas to streamline its logistics and create a more transparent, data-driven vehicle supply chain, Vinturas said Tuesday.
The partnership will help MME improve network interoperability between its IT applications and trading partners, which can increase efficiency and cost savings, according to Vinturas. MME already implemented the solution for the launch of its new ASX and COLT models.
Automakers are increasingly turning to new technologies, including artificial intelligence and blockchain, to improve their manufacturing and supply chain operations amid inflation, growing labor costs and the transition to electric vehicles.
Vinturas’ technology allows organizations up and down the supply chain to access real-time vehicle location data and information about a vehicle’s status. That enables MME and its business partners to track the movement of newly built vehicles from the moment they leave the factory until they’re delivered to customers, a significant advantage if vehicles need to be rerouted or recalled, Vinturas said.
The solution also encrypts the data for added security and allows MME to control data shared throughout its European vehicle supply chain.
