Chris Paukert, a well-known automotive journalist, will lead U.S. product public relations for Hyundai Motor North America starting Sept. 5, the automaker said Thursday.
His responsibilities will include communications about new vehicle launches, promoting Hyundai’s U.S. vehicle lineup, and championing the company’s electrification efforts and technology. Paukert will report to Michael Stewart, Hyundai Motor North America’s public relations and communications director.
The former journalist recently left his position as director of video editorial at Edmunds.com, a new car shopping website. He was previously executive editor for CNET Cars, formerly known as CNET Roadshow, and Autoblog.com. Earlier in his career, he was editor-in-chief of Winding Roading Magazine.
“I’ve chronicled Hyundai's meteoric rise throughout my tenure in the auto industry, and now, I have the privilege of helping write its next chapter,” Paukert said in a statement.
Paukert had been a juror for the North American Car, Truck & Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards since 2010, serving as the organization’s vice president from 2018-2020.
