Ford Motor Co. promoted Todd Willing to head of Ford design, effective Aug. 27, according to a Tuesday press release.
Willing, who was formerly the global design director for Model e, has been with the automaker since 2003. He will oversee design for Ford and Lincoln vehicles worldwide, succeeding Anthony Lo, who stepped down as chief design officer in May after three years in the position, according to a LinkedIn post.
In the release, the company said Willing “has played a pivotal role in shaping iconic Ford vehicles, working on products destined for markets around the world.”
Willing was part of the design teams behind vehicles including the 2007 Ford Mondeo, 2009 Ford Fiesta and 2010 Ford Focus, and was exterior chief designer on the 2017 Ford GT. While serving as global design director for Ford Trucks and SUVs, he led the teams in charge of the F-150, Super Duty, Ranger, Bronco, Maverick, Explorer and Expedition vehicle lines, the release said.
Willing is currently based in southeastern Michigan, following past assignments in Japan, Germany, England and Australia.
