BMW of North America appointed Andreas Kindler as its new executive vice president and CFO, effective Aug. 1, the automaker announced in a press release June 28.
Kindler is replacing Raymond Wittmann, who is relocating to BMW Group headquarters in Munich to lead the automaker’s corporate strategy division. Wittmann became CFO of BMW’s North American operations on Sept. 1, 2022.
In his new role, Kindler will be responsible for BMW of North America’s financial operations, including overseeing finance and controlling, risk management, treasury, taxes, corporate strategy, compliance, and facility management, according to the press release. He will report to Sebastian Mackensen, president and CEO at BMW of North America.
“Allow me to be the first to welcome Andreas back to the U.S.,” said Mackensen in the press release. “Not only does Andreas bring extensive experience in the areas of sales controlling and accounting, but he also has a strong understanding of the U.S. market and consumer mindset, gained from his previous assignment here.”
Kindler has worked for the automaker for nearly 25 years. He previously served as planning and reporting manager for BMW of North America from 2006 to 2010. He also has served as CFO for BMW-owned retail outlets in Germany.
In 2020, Kindler took on a dual role, leading the controlling function of the BMW Group’s joint venture in China, BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. Most recently, Kindler served as finance and compliance director for BMW Group’s production facilities in Oxford, Swindon and Hams Hall in the U.K.
